Sometimes when you are hungry, an energy bar is a saviour. No? For me, it is. I mean a long term fix is a good thing but before you get to that, a small fix can help you get energy required for the long term solution.
Same goes for the way you feel.
Here are 27 things you can do to feel better instantly:
- Take a few deep breaths
- Go for a walk outside
- Listen to your favorite music
- Call or text a friend
- Stretch or do some light exercise
- Watch a funny video or movie
- Take a hot shower or bath
- Practice progressive muscle relaxation
- Write in a gratitude journal
- Do a quick meditation or mindfulness exercise
- Drink a glass of water
- Take a break from social media or technology
- Eat a healthy snack or meal
- Look at some old photos that make you happy
- Practice visualization or positive affirmations
- Go for a drive and enjoy the scenery
- Light a scented candle or diffuse essential oils
- Hug a loved one or pet
- Do something creative, like drawing or coloring
- Take a power nap or rest for a few minutes
- Clean or organize a small area of your home
- Laugh out loud
- Do some gentle yoga or stretching
- Read a book or article that inspires you
- Drink a warm cup of tea or coffee
- Practice self-compassion and speak kindly to yourself
- Do a small act of kindness for someone else
A lot of these have helped me in past and I keep the list handy because you never know, when you might need one of these. I hope they help you as well.
