Going back to your childhood hobbies in adulthood is how you heal

Things I loved as a kid:

  1. Dressing up in front of the mirror.
  2. Creating stories in my head.
  3. Running
  4. Creating random little things like drawings, doodles and other crafty things.
  5. Reading
  6. Dancing every single day in our backyard.

Honestly, when people say wouldn’t you get bored if you don’t look at your phone, my answer is no.

I have spent hours building stories in my head, I have spent a significant amount of time reading, and I remember going to our backyard after lunch every single day and choreographing a dance number. I remember making mini diaries by stapling or weaving pages and filling them up with random things. I remember running with my friends.

And I was obsessed with each of these things at one point or another.

I remember how I loved dressing up in the afternoons or on Sundays just because I felt like. It was not for photos, it was not to go somewhere, it was just something I did.

And now that I am in my late 30s, I find myself going back to these little obsessions.

Why? Because they make me happy.

So, how about you? What were you obsessed with as a kid?
